Gardening Magazine Spots

I realized it's been a while since I've done some black-and-white work and wanted to challenge myself. For this brief, I wanted to create a series of spot illustrations for an article about The benefits of adding more green into your daily life.

I made the decision to greatly increase the size of the flowers, one so they could be recognizable and two because the images felt far too busy drawing the plants at regular size. I also like the idea of getting in that green space wherever you can, even in the smallest and most unlikely places. It was a challenge to make the line art drawings still feel detailed without using colour and value, but I think I managed to find a good medium.
